Leorah Hopper

A Blood Cancer United Honored Hero and a five-year Burkitt Leukemia survivor. Diagnosed at just six years old in May 2020 with stage-four cancer, Leorah spent much of that year in the hospital undergoing multiple surgeries and intensive chemotherapy—during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today

Leorah is thriving and full of life. A student at Baker Intermediate School, she loves theatre, softball and performing. She will star as Dorothy in her school play and will travel to New York City this spring to study and perform with her theatre group. Leorah also enjoys singing and dancing, serving in the Kentucky All-State Children’s Chorus and helping lead worship dance at her church.

Family

Leorah and her family choose to find joy and purpose in every season. Together with her mother, she co-wrote a children’s book about finding beauty in hard moments and continues to advocate for children and families facing blood cancer. Her courage, creativity, and positivity make her a true Honored Hero.
